Let’s jump in!

“Never been done before in MLS.”

Philadelphia Union Open a New Sports Complex

Philadelphia Union opened the doors of WSFS Bank Sportsplex, a state of the art, $100 million, 170,000-square-foot sports and recreation complex adjacent to Subaru Park. It brings Union’s first team, second team, the academy, and YSC Academy private school all to one campus. It’s the first super campus in Major League Soccer.

Our take on the situation: It’s great to see the Union investing so much in their infrastructure and youth development. While their fans may be frustrated for not bringing in expensive big name signings, what the club is doing is fantastic for American soccer, especially in that region.

“There’s a Big Part of Me That Wants to Stuff a Sock in Your Mouth.”

Eric Wynalda Blasts Landon Donovan

Eric Wynalda has called out Landon Donovan as he believes the former LA Galaxy star is trying to influence young USMNT players to play in MLS instead of challenging themselves in Europe.  Wynalda has said this is getting annoying as hell and wants to stuff a sock in Donovan’s mouth.

Our take on the situation: Wynalda always speaks his mind, and he is not wrong in this case. If the USMNT want to be successful in the World Cup, then players need to be challenging themselves at the highest level. MLS is not it.

“Before Messi, people couldn’t care less who played in MLS!”

Stevie Nicol Gets Heated About Lionel Messi’s Suspension

Lionel Messi was suspended during the weekend for missing the MLS All-Star Game. Former New England Revolution coach Stevie Nicol, a legend at Liverpool, was not happy. He blasted MLS for their Messi treatment.

Our take on the situation: Nicol is absolutely spot on. Messi has brought a lot of attention and revenue to MLS. He shouldn’t be punished for missing an exhibition game, especially when he played nine full games in last five weeks.

“A Huge Gesture That We All Noticed.”

Max Arfsten Praised Mauricio Pochettino

Max Arfsten praised Mauricio Pochettino for taking the blame to protect players in the recent USMNT camp. He believes it showed that Pochettino cares about players, and it’s a gesture they all noticed.

Our take on the situation: Pochettino has been getting a lot of praise for how he handles and communicates with players. This is a good sign to see because the most important thing for a coach is to have players who are ready to battle for you on the pitch.

Welcome to the NWSL

Denver’s NWSL Team Announced Name, Crest, and Colors

Denver’s NWSL team, which will start playing in 2026, announced their name, crest, and colors. They will be called Denver Summit. It is a name they chose after receiving most first-place votes in the Name The Club fan vote, which generated over 15,000 votes.

Our take on the situation: It’s not the most creative name in the world, but it’s also not the most boring. The most important thing is to build a team that’s competitive and give Denver soccer fans something to cheer for. Colorado Rapids in MLS aren’t exactly winning over fans.
