“I Would Love to Sit Down with Mauricio Pochettino”

Herculez Gomez Calls Out the USMNT Coach for an Interview

Herculez Gomez is sick of Mauricio Pochettino getting soft ball questions in the media. He’s called him out for an interview, where he can ask the coach about questions a lot of people are wanting to ask. Herc said he doesn’t have sponsors that can set it up, but he would love it if U.S. Soccer and Pochettino can make it happen.

Our take on the situation: It’d be amazing if it happens. Pochettino should be under pressure with the way he’s running the USMNT so far, and he needs to be asked tough questions on camera. Herc is the perfect person to do that.

“Why U.S. Soccer is Failing— from an American Pro who Played in Europe.”

Joe Efford on Problems in American Youth Soccer

Joe Efford is from Georgia. At 18, he passed up a college scholarship at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro for a professional career in Europe. He learned that youth soccer in the U.S. didn’t prepare him for professional soccer, especially in fitness. Plus, youth soccer is very expensive and the pathway becomes too small after you’re done with high school.

Our take on the situation: It’s good to see him speaking out and starting Effort Elite to give American youth what he didn’t have, professional training that can prepare you for Europe. The only way to change youth soccer in the U.S. is to have more and more people speaking out.

Ana Maria Marković Responds to Being Dubbed The Most Beautiful Footballer on the Planet

Ana Maria Marković is the new signing for Brooklyn FC in the USL Super League. She’s been called the most beautiful footballer on the planet and while she appreciates that, people cross the line and starts calling her sexy, which she doesn’t appreciate.

Our take on the situation: Signing Marković is a huge deal for Brooklyn FC and the USL Super League. Bringing her in will bring a lot of eyeballs as she has over 2 million followers on social media. Let’s see how she does and let’s hope people show her respect.

Alejandro Moreno Slams Mauricio Pochettino’s Comments in Spanish

In a recent interview with Spanish TV, Mauricio Pochettino said he can’t score goals or defend them for the team. Pochettino also said he’s laying the groundwork to shift the mentality from making “soccer” to be understood as true football in the U.S., and the question is whether they will be ready on time for the World Cup. Moreno has slammed him for these comments.

Our take on the situation: Moreno is right. Pochettino has come off looking bad in this interview, spending an hour and half talking about wanting to coach Real Madrid and whatnot, but acting like he doesn’t really care when asked about the USMNT and the World Cup.

“I’m All for It. I’m All In. It Would be a Good Gig.”

Seattle Sounders Coach Brian Schmetzer is Open to the USMNT Job

Brian Schmetzer has won it all with Seattle Sounders— MLS Cups, CONCACAF Champions League, and the Leagues Cup. Is he open to coaching the USMNT? He said he’s all for it and it would be a good gig.

Our take on the situation: Schmetzer’s story is incredible. Nine years ago, he got promoted to the job at Sounders and he got the chance to coach in the top flight for the first time. Now he’s a legend in Seattle. His style of coaching seems suited for international football as well.
