American soccer never sleeps — and this week proves it. From sideline meltdowns to medical scares and managerial beefs, here’s everything you need to know to stay in the loop (and sound smart doing it). Let’s get into it.

Scary Moment in the NWSL

Savy King Collapses Mid-Game, League Responds
During the game against Angel City and Utah Royals, Savy King collapsed on the pitch. The medical staff had to give her chest compressions and she was taken straight to the hospital. The game still continued afterwards.

Our take on the situation: Thankfully, King is okay but you could see how scary this moment as players and coaches were visibly shaken. It’s truly unbelievable they had to continue playing afterwards.

LA Galaxy keep making history, in a bad way

Greg Vanney’s LA Galaxy Future Hanging by a Thread
Five months after winning the MLS Cup, the Galaxy are unrecognizable. They are winless after 12 games, with nine of them being losses. On Saturday, they got hammered 7-0 by New York Red Bulls.

Our take on the situation: We knew the Galaxy were going to suffer this season because of MLS salary rules, but this is simply unacceptable. Changes need to be made ASAP or fans are going to run out of patience.

Klinsmann’s Patriotism Problem

Did Jurgen Klinsmann Push the Flag Too Hard on USMNT Players?
Jurgen Klinsmann’s era in USMNT is full of crazy stories, and this one has to be up there. He was making players get up and sing the national anthem after lunch. By the looks of Tim Howard’s face, he wasn’t too thrilled.

Our take on the situation: Klinsmann wanted to make players more patriotic, especially since he recruited many German-Americans. But this is just cringe.

Griffin Yow has a dream

The Former D.C. United Prospect Opens Up on His USMNT Goals
Griffin Yow is on fire with five goals in his last eight games so far. He knows the USMNT and Pochettino are taking notice, and his dream is to make that 2026 World Cup squad.

Our take on the situation: It’s great to see the growth of Yow in the last couple of years. He made the jump to Europe at 19 before even getting regular playing time in MLS. So far, it’s paying off.

Klinsmann vs. Arena

Jurgen Claps Back at Bruce’s “Foreign Coach” Critique
Arena recently spoke about how foreign coaches may not be suitable for the USMNT. Klinsmann has responded to him, saying that the diversity in soccer is huge and it’s a global sport.

Our take on the situation: Klinsmann is spot on. Brazil, England, Portugal, Belgium, Uruguay, etc all have foreign coaches now. The USMNT amen’t special, appoint the best coach available regardless of their nationality.
