This week’s stories…
Joey Saputo on differences between running Bologna and CF Montreal.
Timothy Tillman on how accessible soccer is for kids in Germany.
Hérculez Gómez called out San Diego fans and called for alcohol to be banned in games.
Tuca Ferretti explodes against Liga MX and Mexican Federation.
Eric Wynalda is not a fan of CBS Sports coverage.
Diego Luna talks to Tim Howard about his tattoos.
"People There [in Italy] Appreciate Our Work. Here [in Canada] They Don’t”
Joey Saputo Speaks on Differences Between Bologna and CF Montreal
Joey Saputo has seen success with his Italian club Bologna but CF Montreal are second to last in MLS. He opened up about his difficulties with the Canadian side.

Our take on the situation: Same owner, two very different stories for Bologna and CF Montreal, Maybe it’s time Saputo sells Montreal to an ambitious owner willing to make big changes.
How Much More Accessible Is Soccer for Kids in Germany?
Timothy Tillman on Soccer for Kids in Germany VS the U.S.
Born and raised in Germany, Timothy Tillman started playing at four. The member fee was about 100 bucks a year, and he would bike or walk with friends to training. It’s a big difference from how soccer is for kids here.

Our take on the situation: Youth soccer in the U.S. is wildly expensive and whenever European players come over, they speak about that issue. Until it’s fixed, there will be tons of talent falling through the cracks.
Should Alcohol be Banned in Games?
Hérculez Gómez Called Out San Diego Fans
San Diego FC fans are once again in the headlines, this time for fighting against LA Galaxy fans. Former USMNT striker Hérculez Gómez called them out and suggested alcohol to be banned from games.

Our take on the situation: San Diego just started playing in MLS this year but they are already getting a pretty bad reputation. Banning alcohol might sound harsh but changes have to be made.
Is Mexican Football at an All-Time Low?
Tuca Ferretti Explodes Against the Mexican Football Federation and Liga MX
Promotion/relegation in Liga MX remains suspended. Tuca Ferretti has criticized the decision, saying Mexican football is its lowest in 48 years he’s been in the country. He even went far as to say the national team will be grouped again in next year’s World Cup.

Our take on the situation: Ferretti is completely spot on. The Americanization of Liga MX will do nothing but harm Mexican football. It’s a shame to see what’s happening there.
“It Should be Called ‘Ha Ha Ha Ha Half-Time Show’”
Eric Wynalda is Not a Fan of CBS Sports’ Champions League Coverage
CBS Sports’ show for Champions League has gotten very popular, but former USMNT striker Eric Wynalda is not a fan. Wynalda used to cover Champions League with FOX Sports, so he knows what it’s like to analyze these games and he’s not impressed with CBS.

Our take on the situation: Wynalda is not wrong. CBS Sports show is good for entertainment, but if you want to watch tactical breakdowns of games, that’s not the show you want to tune in.
Tattoos Are a Big Part of Him
Diego Luna Got His First Tattoo at 15
The first thing people notice about Diego Luna is his tattoos. Tim Howard asked him about them, and Luna responded by saying he got his first tattoo at 15. He has no regrets on any of them.

Our take on the situation: Tattoos definitely make Luna unique, and it’s just a reflection of his personality. He’s creative and isn’t afraid to take risks, and he’s quickly becoming a fan favorite.
